Five day Snake Pass closure heralds new mass cycle ride

The spectacular, sweeping climb up the A57 Snake Pass road out of Glossop will be a low-traffic space once again for five days in late May, prompting a new organised cycle ride to the summit.

Half of High Lane A6 cycle link could be created with one road filter

Stockport Council has trialled a single closure point to stop queue-jumping on a residential road off the A6 at the High Lane — a move which, if made permanent, could also provide up to half the length of a safe cycling route along this busy travel corridor.

Marple’s Brabyns Park Iron Bridge closed for repair

The historic Iron Bridge connecting Brabyns Park in Marple with Rollins Lane in Compstall is currently closed for repair, blocking a key route for walking and riding across the River Goyt.
